Hi everyone!

My name is Alice Rose, and I am a comedian/producer/community builder in Toronto, Canada. I am the creator of Comic Sans Productions, a comedy production and entertainment company with a focus on LGBTQ+ and marginalized performers. Through Comic Sans, I produce a number of comedy showcases, variety shows, trivia nights, and storytelling events across Ontario.

As a producer, I am excited to announce that I am organizing a Queer Comedy Showcase with some of the country's best LGBTQ+ talent, specifically for Canadian Pride organizations. Having worked very closely with North Bay Pride on programming and events, I am hoping to engage with Pride Festivals across Canada! I would love to hear from your Pride organization to discuss hosting one of our hilarious showcases in your city.

As a performer, I am passionate about sharing my story as a queer trans woman on stage. Using humour to diffuse stigmas and phobias, I approach stand-up comedy as a means to advocate and inform audiences with messages of acceptance, trans visibility, body positivity, and self-love. I have performed for Just For Laughs, Absolute Comedy, and Comedian of the North, and my debut album, Naked, is due to be released this spring.

As a community advocate, Alice has presented seminars and hosted workshops for The Pan-African Defenders Project, Nipissing University, Women Focus Canada, Toronto SketchFest, Guelph Comedy Festival, and OPSEU Rainbow Alliance. The subjects of my workshops and seminars range from mental health and gender identity, trans awareness and visibility, using comedy for advocacy and community building, visualizing information, and professional development. I will be facilitating my workshop, Comedy for Good: Using Humour as Advocacy for Diversity and Inclusivity at InterPride's 2021 Virtual World Conference & General Meeting. I hope to see many of you there!!!
