2021 InterPride Annual Report

Our Global Advisory Committee as well as our partnerships with Regional Pride Organizations around the globe play a vital role in the success of InterPride and their work has been paramount to the outreach of our organization. In 2012, Luke became the Operations Director of PrideFest Milwaukee during its 25th anniversary year. He has been an integral part of Milwaukee Pride ever since. He was invited to join the Board of Directors in January 2018, and became Festival Producer in July 2018. He continues to serve Milwaukee Pride as both Vice President of the Board of Directors and the Vice President of Festival Production. In his role on the board, Luke serves as the liaison to the broader community. He serves on the Board of Milwaukee’s United Ethnic Festivals – a group of festival leaders consisting of Milwaukee’s best known cultural events, like PrideFest, Irish Fest, Mexican Fiesta, Festa Italiana, Polish Fest, German Fest, MKE Black Arts Fest and others. Luke is also on the Board of Directors of Summerfest – the World’s Largest Music Festival.  He has also been the designated representative of Milwaukee Pride, Inc with InterPride and has attended all InterPride AGMs since Saskatoon in 2018. He also represented Milwaukee Pride at World Pride in NYC in 2019. Luke is also a District 4 VP for the United States Association of Prides. In Milwaukee, Luke works for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (consistently recognized as one of the nation’s top 20 LGBT Friendly Campuses by the Campus Pride Index) where he was awarded the UW System Dr. P.B. Poorman Award for Outstanding Achievement on Behalf of LGBTQ+ People.  Luke is also a co-chair of the UW-Milwaukee Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for LGBTQ+ Advocacy.
