Esther Joy Montgomery is a Mardudhunera/ Yindjibarndi woman, historian,social justice campaigner from the northwest Pilbara region of Western Australia. Esther is an activist advocate for Aboriginal LGBTQ+ members of the community and focuses on the wellbeing of Aboriginal LGBTQ+ people around equity, participation, access and the rights of the human. Esther advocates for Aboriginal LGBTQ+ Elders rights, advocates building the visibility of the Aboriginal LGBTQ+ community in Australia, advocates to reconnect families, challenges homophobia and eradicate discrimination within Aboriginal communities of Australia. In 2018, Esther presented at the Better Together Conference 2018 Indigenous Caucus Report..
Esther is a current committee member of the Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation Elders circle, Relationship and Implementation Committee with Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation ,Leichhardt Industrial, BCI Minerals and Citic Pacific Mining , Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation member ,World Pride committee , Racism and Oppression Awareness committee , Human Rights and Diversity Committee (InterPride), former First Nations LGBTQ+ Advisory of Sydney World Pride 2023 , committee member National COLES Group First Nations Network and is also a member of the First Nations LGBTQ Elders Coalition, SDA Union member, National Greens Political Party- Greens WA
